    Description

Lionel Early Prewar Standard Gauge 34 Locomotive Outfit in Original Box 1920's?.
Fresh from a Long Island estate.  We just got back from Long Island after purchasing an estate and this is one of the things found.
In the set is a number 33 locomotive. Also included is a number 36 observation car and a number 35 Pullman car. There are 8 pieces of track.. And all the connecting pieces for the track.  Also an antique light post that was found in the Box.
As far as condition, the locomotive is UNTESTED.. And it looks like the wire for the light is cut.  The electric engine looks good but does have surface rust.   The wheels are free and move very smoothly. Cosmetically all 3 cars are in excellent, antique condition. The engine does have one of the brass grill plates not in place and it will need to be put back in, as pictured.  Also on one of the sides of the engine you can see more wear, which looks to be paper that has adhered to the engine.  I am not making an attempt to clean.  I will leave that to the winner.
The Box is extremely fragile. Is relatively complete, all 4 corners are separated, and the box is very flaky.
This train was stored inside of a trunk in the basement of the home in Long Island.. Most likely for decades as the person who collected these did not have children. He also was not a collector of Lionel trains as much as he was an accountant for over 50 years who was an estate planner/CPA and received many things from the clients he had over that time period.
