Liquid Kicks Water-Based Acrylic Top Coats 2oz Leather SealerVolume: 2 or 4 oz per bottle
Primer:
LK primer is a high-performance water-based acrylic resin designed for use on leather. All of our products are manufactured in house under very strict quality control.
Preparation:
Use a clean lint-free cotton cloth dampened with acetone to clean only the leather surface which you intend to paint. Do not excessively clean the surface. You should feel the surface change from slick to tacky as you are cleaning it. As soon as it changes feel, it has been sufficiently been cleaned. Allow the surface to sit for 10 to 20 minutes to allow solvents to escape. Do not force dry. Remove any dust or debris with a clean dry synthetic paint brush.
Applying Primer:
LK Primer can be applied with a soft brush, but the best way to apply it is with an airbrush with a tip size between .2mm and .7mm with air pressure between 25psi and 35psi. Spray Primer directly at the surface from 3 to 5 inches away with an airbrush, or 4 to 8 inches away with a spray gun. Apply in even coats by working from side to side and top to bottom while overlapping each previous line to create medium wet coats. Allow the primer to fully dry before moving to the next coat. You may use a hairdryer to force dry but be sure to allow the surface to cool all the way before proceeding.
Pot Life:
Once the product is poured into an open-air container such as an airbrush cup or mixing cup, curing will begin. A test showed that in a 1/8oz airbrush cup at 72f the product was usable for 2 hours before performance was affected. In a similar test in a 16oz cup, the product was usable for 6 hours. To extend pot life, keep unused portion covered with a cap or lid.
Coverage:
One 2oz bottle will coat more than 15 pairs of leather shoes! Coverage on canvas will vary based on the type of canvas and size.
Storage:
Store between 50f and 80f and away from long term exposure to direct sunlight to prevent oxidation. Long term exposure to temperatures over 120f and below 30f may cause a loss of product performance. Keep lid closed when not in use to prevent drying.
Clean up:
Clean all tools immediately use with water, acetone or 4012 reducer by Createx Colors TM. Clean up of dried primer requires ammonia. Clean all traces of Primer out of your airbrush or spray gun immediately after use to prevent the product from drying inside the body and causing a difficult to remove clog! Rinse until cleaner no longer becomes foggy from Primer.
Intercoat:
LK Intercoat is a water-based acrylic coating that is made from very strong resins that dry to a clear film. The dry film is capable of blocking chemical reactions and bleeding between layers of paint. If you are working on a portrait and get to a point where you are ready to paint is ready for details, apply two coats of Intercoat and once it is fully dr
y
, you will be able to paint the details in without fear of making a mistake because the Intercoat layer will allow you to erase mistakes without damaging the art beneath it! It will act as a barrier between the new art and the art under it!! It is compatible with solvent-based paints so this product may be used in many applications!
Preparation:
All coats of paint under the Intercoat MUST BE TOTALLY DRY before applying Intercoat. Remove all dust before applying. Do not use as a primer.
Application:
Apply Intercoat in two to three coats. Begin with one light coat. Dry this coat quickly after applying by using a hair dryer until the surface is dry. DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN, it can burn the Intercoat. Before applying the next coat, make sure the surface feels cool to the touch. Apply the second coat as a medium wet coat and then dry it quickly with a hairdryer. Application of a third coat is only recommended if you do not plan to add any further coats of paint or expect to do heavy erasing.
Stencil blocking:
Intercoat is also intended for extremely clean stenciling. Use of Intercoat after applying a stencil will dramatically reduce stencil problems such as lifting and bleed. To use as a stencil blocker, apply stencil vinyl on a fully prepped and dried surface. Make sure stencil is completely laid down flat without air pockets and then apply two
v
ery light coats of Intercoat and allow to air dry for 10 minutes. Apply colors to stenciled areas and allow to dry. Remove stencil and apply one more light coat of Intercoat to melt the paint edge so there won't be any high edges from the tape.
Converting coatings:
Some situations may require paint to be stronger than it was made to be. Certain inks have a binder that is too weak to be used on flexible surfaces. To enhance the strength of the ink, add 1 to 3 drops of intercoat to 10 drops of ink, mix, and spray. Compatible with all waterbased paints.
Migration prevention:
The chemistry of our intercoat makes it capable of drying quickly and forming a barrier between to paints that would normally cause migration together. Example: candy paint and white. Intercoat is nonreactive and will block most dyes and paints from affecting the next layer. Two or three light coats are required.
Intercoat does not contain any UV blockers and is not as flexible or scratch resistant as our top coats. It should not be used as a top coat.
Top Coats/Finishes:

Liquid Kicks designed their top coats to protect your art on a variety of surfaces such as leather, vinyl, pvc, canvas, cotton, and silk. LK Topcoats give you the ability to send your custom leather, canvas, and vinyl products out into the world with confidence that they will not peel, lift, crack or fade and last! Your art will look and feel great for years.
LK Top Coats are a blend of high-performance waterbased acrylic and polyurethane resins designed for use on leather and canvas.
Preparation:
Use a clean lint-free cotton cloth to clean only the leather surface which you intend to paint.
Applying Top Coat:
LK Top Coats should be applied with an airbrush with a tip size between .2mm and .7mm with air pressure between 25psi and 35psi or with a mini spray gun with a tip size less than 1mm. Spray top coat directly at the surface from 3 to 5 inches away with an airbrush, or 4 to 8 inches away with a spray gun. Apply top coat in e
v
en coats by working from side to side and top to bottom while overlapping each previous line to create medium wet coats. Allow top coat to dry before moving to the next coat.
Drying:
Top Coats are best air dried but may be forced dried with a hairdryer with a temperature not exceeding 350f. Air drying will take 35 to 50 minutes depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Force drying should not be allowed to exceed 10 minutes. LK Top Coats are ready to handle and use after fully drying but full chemical and scratch resistance is only achieved after 12 hours of curing at room temperature 70f.
Pot Life:
Once the product is poured into an open-air container such as an airbrush cup or mixing cup, curing will begin. A test showed that in a 1

Storage:
Store between 50f and 80f and away from long term exposure to direct sunlight to prevent oxidation. Long term exposure to temperatures over 120f and below 30f may cause a loss of product performance. Keep lid closed when not in use to prevent drying.
Clean up:
Clean all tools immediately use with water, acetone or 4012 reducer by Createx Colors. Clean up of dried top coats requires harsh solvents such as M.E.K. or volatile paint strippers. Clean all traces of sealer out of your airbrush or spray gun immediately after use to prevent the product from drying inside the body and causing a difficult to remove clog! Rinse until cleaner no longer becomes foggy from top coat.
